1. Start with your text.

2. Use the Contour tool with a 1 step, to Outside, .0025 contour.

2a. Separate the Contour group, so you can color both pieces individually.

3. From the Fountain Fill menu, assign a custom Linear Fountain fill for the back piece.

4. From the Fountain Fill menu, assign a custom Linear Fountain fill for the front piece.

5. Finished! A golden look! You can vary the colors in the fills for other metallic finishes.

6. For a cool variation, try PowerClipping a bitmap into the shapes.
